Sap and Steel is an Sonora CA-based studio created by welder, fabricator, and artist Nigel Fluharty. From working as an event production manager for Got Light in San Francisco to teaching welding at The Crucible in Oakland, Nigel is able to use his wide range of skills and ingenuity to build your unique world without mass-produced aesthetics. 

Sap and Steel uses quality materials including found and reclaimed items to create detailed, high-quality works of art that are equally at home in a museum or in the backyard. Nigel’s desire is for Sap and Steel is to become a platform for creating large- and small-scale works of accessible art, each piece custom-made to fit seamlessly in your life while standing out as truly unique.
